About us

Community Web Design is a small business located in Wakefield, Massachusetts that was officially launched in June of 2004.  Our history of web design reaches back to the early nineties where we worked on our first project.  By building a small library of technical manuals and joining the open source movement, our knowledge base has grown steadily.  Our skills have been put to work developing web pages that allow people to reach information in a visually rich and convenient way.

Community Web Design follows socially responsible business practices by offering non-proprietary open-source websites at affordable rates to businesses and organizations.  All of our clients enjoy free educational resources, and special discounts are available to non-profit and mission-based organizations.  We believe these practices contribute to a healthy and thriving business climate.  By being a responsible business, we become an asset to the communities in which we serve.  We are dedicated to following fiscal, resource, and labor standards that advance these goals.

Open Source Initiative (OSI) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to managing and promoting the Open Source Definition for the good of the community.      The Co-op America Business Network is the largest organization of socially and environmentally responsible businesses in the world. With the organizing power of 2,000 businesses, CABN is building the Green Economy ... and changing the way America does business.      The Viewable With Any Browser campaign seeks to discourage browser specific web design and help protect freedom of choice for all web users by advocating for the creation of web pages that are as accessible as possible.      Affordable Online Services Online provides environmentally friendly, Solar Powered Network.  120 Solar Panels power our network and helps the environment.
